On the 7th of October 2022, three Masters Study Programs within the Faculty of
Agriculture, Udayana University, namely the Masters Study Program in
Agroecotechnology, Masters Study Program in Biotechnology and Masters Study
Program in Dry Land Agriculture, held a guest lecture with the topic
“BIOTECHNOLOGY APPROACH IN PLANT DEVELOPMENT”. This activity presented three
speakers, namely: Prof. Masaru Ohme-Takagi (National Cheng Kung University,
Taiwan), with the topic "How to manipulate plant traits using
Biotechnology"; Prof Ming-Tsair Chan (Academia Sinica Agricultural
Biotechnology Research Center, Taiwan) with the topic "Cell Manipulation
for plant improvement through genetic transformation"; and Dr Dewi Sukma
from the Bogor Agricultural Institute who discussed "Biotechnology approaches
for marigold breeding'". This general lecture was attended by all
postgraduate Unud students, both masters and doctoral students who have
knowledge related to the topic of the guest lecture. In addition to master
program students from the three study programs mentioned above, the guest
lecture was also attended by students from the Agricultural Sciences Doctoral
